TimelineOdessa Young Eyed for Charlene Role in Michael Mann's Heat 2
Michael Mann has tapped Odessa Young as his choice to play a younger Charlene Shiherlis in Heat 2, the hybrid prequel/sequel to his 1995 crime classic. MarÃa Cid is also the top choice to play Gabi, a new character. The film is based on Mann and Meg Gardiner's novel, with production expected to begin in November 2026. Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists will release the film theatrically; no release date has been announced.
