BRUTE 1986 — Cinephobia Releasing Picks Up Glam-Metal Horror Sequel (10/16/2026)

Cinephobia Releasing has acquired North American and UK rights to BRUTE 1986, director Marcel Walz's sequel to last summer's cult hit Brute 1976. A decade after the first film, glam metal band Leather Kobra heads to an abandoned Western town to film their latest music video — and crosses paths with the ultra-violent Birdy family. The film goes all-in on 1986 excess: big hair, practical gore, and a glam rock soundtrack featuring original music by Tokio Hotel's Bill Kaulitz, who also stars alongside Gigi Gustin, Sarah French, Dazelle Yvette, Sarah Kaplan, and Lew Temple. BRUTE 1986 holds its world premiere at Tubi FrightFest Halloween on October 31, with a North American release to be announced.
